Belissima Way Theatre
About The Project
What I loved about this theater right away was the fact that it’s laid out the long way, meaning there is plenty of room for seating from side to side. It also minimizes the throw distance of the room, although we used a large-screen TV for this one, not a projector. The client’s taste was very modern and minimalistic, so we went with in-wall speakers in most cases. We installed four extra speakers for an ATMOS array and installed a premium center channel for really top-notch vocals. We were able to accommodate ten motorized seats with cup holders galore! We added a riser to the room and finished it out with the exact same carpet that was already in the room. The icing on the cake is a 3D-textured wall with acoustic properties. All in all, Bellissima Way has been one of our most admirable theater projects ever!
Canto Trace Theatre
About The Project
There was a challenge with this theater from the very beginning. The theater room was constructed only 13 feet wide by 22 feet long! Proportionately, that is very narrow for a theater. Even though the client is a family of four, we were unable to accommodate four chairs in the same row because of the narrowness of the room. Furthermore, the double entry doors opened into the room precisely where the seating should be. We decided to ask our carpentry team to reverse the doors so that they open out of the theater room instead of inside the theater room. This also meant that the wall with the screen was narrow. To maximize the size of the screen and to make the theater more elegant, we placed the front speakers under the screen and used an acoustic, perforated screen. To minimize clutter and distraction, we opted for an in-wall subwoofer rather than a black cube somewhere in the room. Once the custom-painted speaker grills are added, the speakers literally disappear into the wall. A robust 4K JVC projector was added. A generous 11.2 channel Denon receiver was used with ATMOS speakers in the ceiling. A Salamander Audio Video Credenza was added to house all the equipment in a climate-controlled space. We chose a modern version of a mid-century modern sconce and installed two pairs with Lutron dimmers. The smoky, warm grays help to subdue excess light reflection and create an intimate, mysterious effect in the room. A lighter hue on the front wall allows the ambient backlighting to have better saturation. We finished this theater in only 14 days, from the time we took our deposit until we finished our installation! Our client is pleased, and so are we!
Carretera Drive Theatre
About The Project
In the summer of 2018, we helped a family settle in a new home in Leander. They had a nice home theater in their previous home, so we helped them utilize some of the existing speakers. We upgraded the new home theater to ATMOS, which is a new array of sound arrangements that emits from the speakers in a spatial arrangement in the room, which gives the viewing experience much more reality. Things will fly by! We installed lights in all the right places, including LED wafer lights (today’s can lights) and sconces that were dimmed by the Universal Remote Control. We installed LED ambient backlighting behind the screen to wash the wall behind the 120″ projector screen. We wall-mounted TVs and soundbars all over the house. We automated the home with motorized deadbolts and Nest thermostats. The outcome of the project was fantastic, and the family was pleased and excited about their new home!
